TheDMP has touched base this time in the North American Bhangra scene. This week we spoke with rising vocalists Bal-E Lasara. We had a chance to talk about his upcoming releases and his time so far within the industry. When asked about his entrance into the bhangra music industry, he replied by saying that he did not take singing too seriously. "At most I used to do 'boliyaan' in the college years and that was about it". But his true inspiration and self belief for singing came from the Late Soni Pabla. Soni knew of Bal-E's passion for singing and urged Bal-E to record.

At the same time Joti Dhillon was working on his album the opportunity to record presented itself. Soni urged Bal-E to record the track "Gabru" on the Dhillon release. With the assistance of Soni, Bal-E recorded the track 'Gabru'. Incidently, the chorus in that song was sung by Soni as well. It was the amazing response that Bal-E received from desi music lovers all across the world that made him realise he has some serious potential. Ever since then he has not looked back. Recording smash hits such as "Gabru", "Tohr Panjabian Di" "Jatt" and "Patola" all backed by the music of Joti Dhillon. Bal-E says he thanks the almighty for his blessings and says he would not be who he was if it wasn't for Soni Pabla. He says he wonders sometimes "Soni taught me all that I have learnt till today and he has left me..maybe GOD wanted me to continue with his legacy" Bal-E has confirmed Joti will be releasing an album in the upcoming months which will include 4 songs featuring Bal-E. Bal-E is also working on his solo project due later on this year (rumoured to feature Jazzy B in one of the clips)....Stay tuned for a audio interview being posted up real soon....
